Our Story
From our garden to your table.
We are a small but mighty team of two. Marissa is a first-grade teacher, and Trever works in disability services, creating programs that help individuals with disabilities get employed. We met while we were both working on our undergraduate degrees. We went on to earn our Master's degrees, get our dream jobs, and buy our first house in Middlefield, CT in 2024.
We chose Middlefield because we wanted somewhere with a sense of community and enough land for a huge garden. We've transformed our property into a small homestead. We have a 3,000+ square-foot garden, 8 fruit trees, a dozen blueberry bushes, cranberry bushes, raspberries (red, yellow, and purple!), currant bushes, rhubarb, and more. We built the stand with the help of Marissa's brother, who learned to build things from their father.
In our second year, Marissa got her cottage license and began selling sourdough bread. What started with a few loaves soon expanded to bagels, scones, cookies, jams, jellies, and more! We sell many of our family's favorite recipes and use farm products whenever possible. Many of our recipes have won first-place ribbons in the Durham fair. Trever's pickles have received a first-place ribbon three years in a row and counting! We added 10 chickens to our family this year and plan on selling extra eggs starting in Fall 2026.
We got engaged in 2025 and are getting married in September 2026. We have two dogs, Wynter and Willow, and are excited to grow our family and our farm here in Middlefield!
